GreenStage and The Legacy Theatre Announce Festival Partnership

GreenStage Guilford Live Arts and The Legacy Theatre have formed a partnership in which the two Shoreline performing arts organizations will exchange programming during the 2025 GreenStage Live Arts Festival this August.

In its first festival show outside Guilford, GreenStage will present a concert by the groundbreaking Nebulous Quartet at Legacy’s theater in Branford’s Stony Creek village on Wednesday, August 13. Legacy will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a performance during the GreenStage festival in Guilford on Sunday, August 17. The organizations will also cross-promote one another’s events.

The arrangement could be a precursor to future program sharing between Legacy and GreenStage—two organizations that have long admired one another’s work and have frequently discussed collaborating. Legacy’s executive artistic director and co-founder, Keely Baisden Knudsen, was a member of GreenStage’s first programming committee. She’s house-managed two GreenStage events, led a master class for Guilford high-school students through GreenStage and been a drama judge for GreenStage’s Artists’ Awards grants program.

“GreenStage provides a tremendous opportunity for artists and audiences alike,” Knudsen said, “and I am so pleased for Legacy Theatre to be involved as a partner with this amazing festival!"

“We’re excited to be partnering with Legacy Theatre,” GreenStage’s executive director Peter Hawes said. “Keely played a valuable role in building GreenStage into the innovative and respected arts presenter that it’s become while turning Legacy into the go-to Shoreline destination for high-quality drama and musical theatre. This is a natural partnership between two organizations committed to strong artistic merit and community engagement.”

Tickets for The Nebulous Quartet at Legacy go on sale on June 1. Legacy’s full-season tickets are available at www.LegacyTheatreCT.org. The 2025 GreenStage Live Arts Festival is scheduled for August 10-17.
