Reception: 6:00 - 8:00 pm | Marketplace
Show: 8:00 - 9:05 pm | Arthur Murray Dance Studio
Join GreenStage Guilford on Friday, July 11 for a comedy-infused fundraiser to support the 2025 Live Arts Festival. The night will include a festive pre-show reception at the Marketplace featuring hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a silent auction, before culminating in a 65-minute autobiographical performance at Arthur Murray Dance Studio blending comedy and storytelling into one hilarious evening.
Called “one of the best stories I’d ever had the pleasure of hearing” by Front Row Center, NYC, Martin Dockery performs “Every Good Story Ends With One,” an all-true, humorous tale about an unbelievable, mysterious romance that ruminates on the nature of comedy, the delusion of love, the tunnel-vision of faith, and the fabrication of storytelling itself in a one-of-a-kind, high-voltage performance.
Praise for Martin Dockery in Cincinnati, June 2025:
"A mesmerizing and relentlessly funny and engaging one-man narrative... With 50 awards under his belt and nearly two decades on the road, Dockery has fine-tuned the art of audience connection... Put simply: this is a must-see. Go for the comedy, stay for the heart, and walk away amazed that it was all true."
--Kirk Sheppard, The Sappy Critic
"Watching a Martin Dockery show is like catching up with an old friend who always has a great story to tell... an entertaining storyteller with spot-on comic timing. 'High-voltage' is an accurate description of his performance style, with words tumbling out at break-neck speed and an intensity that keeps your full attention."
